I didn’t want to miss the Lagos Theatre Festival 2018

The fifth edition of the Lagos Theatre Festival held from February 27 to March 4, 2018 with the theme ‘Theatre in Unconventional Spaces’.

The series of events which took place across various venues in Lagos was aimed at showcasing various innovative interpretations of artistic ideas with a view to inspire new works in the creative and artistic world that will provoke conversations and debates in the sector.

The LTF which has been listed as ‘One of the top 20 theatre festivals around the world’ by America Express Essentials, played hosts to over 600 artists who performed over the one week period in over 12 venues to the delight of all lovers of art, culture and artistic works. There were curated shows, 37 fringe shows and events, some of which included ‘Strelitzia’ by Donna Ogunnaike, ‘Esther’s Revenge’ by Paw Studios, ‘Naked’ by Lala Akindoju, ‘Bridezilla’ by Women in Arts, ‘3some’ by Jude Idada, ‘Don’t Drop The MIC’, ‘Open MIC Night’ among others.

Theatre lovers, enthusiasts, families and visitors were celebrated to a galore of cultural celebration, storytelling, applaudable artistic expressions and many more – just the way I like it!
Though I couldn’t make it, I’ve heard only beautiful things about #LTF2018 – how steamy and outstanding most of the performances were, getting standing ovation and resounding applause from the audience.

I heard creatives picked up nuggets of wisdom too about passion, business and so much more! As a Poet in Lagos, It was not an event I would have loved to miss, but there’s always a next time!
